Within the ValgOrize project, a taste panel is trained to judge different local seaweeds in terms of taste, smell, aroma, appearance and mouthfeel.
The results of the taste panel would also be very interesting from a commercial perspective, to test new seaweed products or to indicate the suitability of seaweed species (in terms of taste) for specific applications. Therefore, Noordzeeboerderij set up a meeting to exchange knowledge, needs and wishes between the ValgOrize partners from ILVO who organize the taste panel and different commercial parties. Koninklijke Euroma, Unilever Food Solutions and Seamore were present at the meeting and valuable insights were shared. By facilitating this meeting, Noordzeeboerderij aims at the valorization of research results.
